Generic Tenormin is used for decreasing death due to heart problems after a heart attack.ATENOLOL (an active ingredient) is a beta-blocker. Beta-blockers reduce the workload on the heart and help it to beat more regularly. This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure and to prevent chest pain.
