Besivance ophthalmic is used to treat bacterial eye infections. Besifloxacin belongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This medication treats only bacterial eye infections. It will not work for other types of eye infections (such as infections caused by viruses, fungi, mycobacteria).

Generic Duricef is in a group of drugs called cephalosporin antibiotics. It is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria.

Tobrex (for the eyes) is used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes. Tobrex will not treat a viral or fungal infection of the eye. Tobrex is for use in treating only bacterial infections.
