Generic Augmentin is used in the treatment of lower respiratory, middle ear, sinus, skin, and urinary tract infections that are caused by certain specific bacteria. These bacteria produce a chemical enzyme called beta lactamase that makes some infections particularly difficult to treat.

Generic Flagyl is an antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina, skin, bone and joint, respiratory tract and gastrointestinal infections. METRONIDAZOLE (an active ingredient) is an antiinfective. But it will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections, also this medication will not treat a vaginal yeast infection.
